Job Overview: The Digital Specialist position at the World Bank's Digital and AI Vertical Vice Presidency is a critical role aimed at supporting the Digital Knowledge Center (DKC) in Seoul. This position involves providing analytical and technical support to enhance the DKC's capacity as a global hub for digital transformation in developing countries. The Digital Specialist will work within a multidisciplinary team to align the DKC's objectives with the World Bank Group's (WBG) corporate priorities and Korea's digital development agenda. The role requires active participation in policy dialogues and partnership meetings, contributing to the preparation and delivery of the DKC's annual workplan, and ensuring quality assurance of knowledge products and capacity-building programs. The Digital Specialist will also play a key role in connecting the DKC's mission with the broader goals of the WBG's Digital and AI Strategy, which focuses on access, affordability, ecosystem, and AI readiness.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Digital Specialist will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
Supporting the DKC's work program by providing technical input and ensuring alignment with the Digital and AI Vertical and regional strategies.
Contributing to the preparation and delivery of the DKC's annual workplan, results framework, and reporting.
Participating in policy dialogues and partnership meetings, including those with the private sector and international forums on digital transformation and AI.
Ensuring quality assurance and consistency of all knowledge products, capacity-building programs, and grant activities.
Designing and implementing flagship knowledge and operational programs under the DKC's three strategic pillars: strengthening digital and data infrastructure, enhancing digital public services, and fostering an inclusive digital economy.
Providing technical inputs and contributions to WBG country teams and client governments on the four pillars of the Digital and AI Strategy.
Preparing analytical and advisory products that are policy-relevant and actionable for client countries.
Collaborating with Korean partners such as the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.
Contributing to the integration of Korean expertise and technology solutions into WBG operations. 1
Facilitating collaboration between Korean agencies, WBG, and client countries to ensure effective knowledge transfer. 1
Monitoring and evaluating the DKC's Results Framework and workplan indicators, and preparing periodic progress reports and budgets.

Familiarity with the challenges and opportunities in the East Asia Pacific region, particularly in relation to digital development, will be an asset. Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary working language of the World Bank. Proficiency in Korean is highly desirable, given the location of the position and the need to collaborate with local partners. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the East Asia Pacific region may also be beneficial.
