Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Associate will be responsible for supporting the design, planning, and execution of both analytical and operational workstreams for projects aimed at reducing lead exposure. Key responsibilities include accelerating access to blood lead level diagnostics, increasing access to portable environmental testing equipment, and supporting the development of national action plans for lead mitigation. The role also involves conducting complex quantitative and qualitative analyses, translating findings into actionable recommendations, and building productive relationships with various stakeholders, including government entities and academic partners. Additionally, the Senior Associate will monitor project budgets, ensure quality execution of tasks, and contribute to the development of proposals and strategic plans to expand CHAI's lead exposure portfolio. Collaboration with other CHAI teams to integrate lead exposure reduction into broader public health initiatives is also a critical aspect of this role.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in public policy, economics, business, public health, environmental health, environmental science, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in fast-paced, results-oriented environments is required, along with strong project management skills. The ability to conduct analytical workstreams, synthesize findings, and generate practical recommendations for decision-makers is essential. Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with government and external partners, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills, are also necessary. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is required, along with a commitment to CHAI’s values.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as public policy, economics, business, public health, environmental health, or environmental science is required. A Master’s degree in a related field is considered an advantage, as it may provide additional insights and expertise relevant to the role.
Experience:
The position requires at least 3 years of relevant experience in environments that are fast-paced and results-oriented, such as consulting, finance, or pharmaceuticals. Experience in lead exposure, environmental health, or child health is advantageous but not mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate strong project management capabilities and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in additional languages relevant to CHAI program countries, such as Hindi, French, Swahili, Amharic, or Yoruba, is considered an advantage. This linguistic diversity can enhance communication and collaboration with local partners and stakeholders.
Additional Notes:
The position may require up to 20% travel and can be based within 7 hours of US Eastern Time or in a CHAI program country, pending leadership approval. CHAI is open to hiring exceptional candidates with less professional experience at the Associate level.
