The Child Protection Project Manager will oversee the management and implementation of the DK Media child protection project in the Rhino Camp and Imvepi refugee settlements. Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Law, Social Work, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related fields. A Master's degree in these areas is desirable and would enhance a candidate's qualifications for the role.
Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in designing and delivering child protection programming for refugees and other vulnerable communities. This experience should include at least 3 years in people management and 2 years as a Project Manager, demonstrating a strong understanding of child protection standards and practices.
Languages:
Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory. Knowledge of local languages spoken in the operation area is considered desirable and would be an asset for effective communication with the community.

The contract length for this position is 4 months, with a designation of Duty Station in Arua. The expected start date is September 202

Duties and Responsibilities:
The main duties and responsibilities of the Child Protection Project Manager include:
- Project Cycle Management: Coordinate, plan, and monitor DK Media project activities in Rhino Camp and Imvepi according to DRC Project Cycle Management (PCM) Guide and donor compliance.
- Collaborate with other Program Managers and the Country Protection Manager to ensure high-quality sectoral interventions and coherence between all projects.
- Ensure quality implementation of child protection prevention interventions, including awareness raising and adolescent life skills sessions.
- Implement child protection case management in line with DRC Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and national guidelines.
- Ensure appropriate alternative care arrangements for UASC and high-quality project activity narrative and financial reports.
- Collaborate with the Protection Specialist to develop operational tools and training modules.
- Lead donor reporting and update Project Management Tools (PMT) for project management meetings.
- Represent DRC in relevant sectoral working groups and oversee knowledge sharing across teams.
- Ensure child safeguarding principles are integrated into all project activities. 1
- Monitor and develop accountability initiatives within the project program and ensure compliance with reporting requirements. 1
- Conduct capacity assessments of local partners and develop capacity-strengthening plans. 1
- Lead and manage project staff, providing supervision, coaching, and performance management. 1
- Promote professional development and ensure staff are well-versed in child protection principles and DRC's code of conduct.
Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Child Protection Project Manager position include:
- A Bachelor's degree in Law, Social Work, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or relevant fields.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the refugee context in Uganda, particularly in West Nile.
- At least 3 years of experience in people management and 2 years as a Project Manager.
- Strong understanding of global and national child protection standards and approaches, including the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (CPMS).
- Experience in CP case management and community-based CP mechanisms.
- Very good organizational and management skills.
- Exceptional spoken and written English and analytical skills.
