Job Overview:
The Partnerships and Grants Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the grants and partnerships portfolio for a Sudan crisis localization Fund. This position requires a strategic leader who can ensure compliance and quality throughout the grants lifecycle. The role involves managing a team of Partnership and Grants Specialists and Officers, providing guidance to partners, and ensuring accountability to donors and Fund standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for operationalizing a locally led approach, which is crucial for the success of the Fund. This position demands a proactive individual who can navigate complex environments and prioritize workloads effectively, ensuring that all grant-related processes are executed efficiently and in alignment with donor expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Partnerships and Grants Manager will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: developing and managing grant application processes, leading due diligence and vetting for partner organizations, preparing and administering grant agreements, and overseeing capacity-building support for partners. The role also includes managing the Fund Grant management System, ensuring compliance with grant conditions, maintaining the Fund risk register, and monitoring grant implementation. Additionally, the manager will provide technical support and capacity building to partners, ensure proper information management of grant-related documents, and engage with stakeholders to align with funding objectives. The position requires ongoing coordination with internal stakeholders and representing the Fund in various forums.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in International Development, Business Administration, Political Science, or a related field. Proven expertise in working with institutional donors such as FCDO, EU, ECHO, SIDA, and NORAD is essential. A strong understanding of donor regulations and compliance is required, along with demonstrated experience in people management. The ideal candidate should have experience working in or on Sudan and a commitment to locally led approaches. Familiarity with ERP systems like Dynamics, SAP, or Oracle is necessary, as well as experience in partnership management and capacity building.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as International Development, Business Administration, or Political Science is required. Additional certifications in grants or partnership management are desirable and may enhance a candidate's profile.
Experience:
A minimum of 6 years of experience in partnerships and grants management within the NGO/INGO or donor sectors is required, with at least 3 years in a management position. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing grants and partnerships effectively, particularly in complex humanitarian contexts.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of the Arabic language is considered a desirable asset. Proficiency in additional languages may be beneficial depending on the context of the role.

The position is a full-time role with a contract length of 1 year, based in Kampala, Uganda. The start date is anticipated to be in October 202
