Job Overview:
The purpose of this position is to manage and fulfill the five stages of the project cycle, ensuring timely and quality formulation and implementation of the Generación Saludable project while leading autonomous decision-making. The role involves coordinating and strengthening the capacities of partners responsible for project execution within organizational guidelines and agreements with partners and donors. Additionally, the position requires leading management efforts with various operational departments of Plan International, ensuring that all project activities align with the organization's mission and objectives. The coordinator will be expected to engage with community stakeholders, manage project resources effectively, and ensure compliance with all relevant policies and regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage the entire project cycle, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Generación Saludable project.
• Lead the formulation of project proposals and ensure they meet organizational standards and donor requirements.
• Coordinate with partners and stakeholders to enhance project execution and capacity building.
• Oversee the management of project budgets and resources, ensuring financial accountability and transparency.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration among various departments within Plan International to achieve project goals.
• Conduct regular field visits to monitor project progress and provide support to partners.
• Prepare and submit reports on project activities, outcomes, and lessons learned to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with Plan International's policies on child protection, gender equality, and inclusion.
• Engage with community members, local authorities, and other stakeholders to promote project objectives and gather feedback. 1
• Address any challenges or conflicts that arise during project implementation and seek solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field; a postgraduate degree is desirable.
• Knowledge or experience in gender and development is preferred, along with familiarity with issues related to development, leadership, and comprehensive health.
• At least 5 years of experience in project management within social sectors.
• Proven experience in preventing early pregnancies, forced unions, and unplanned pregnancies.
• Experience working with young leaders and activists advocating for their rights.
• Experience coordinating with state institutions such as MINEDUC and MSPAS.
• Experience in handling cases of gender-based violence (GBV) and sexual violence (SV).
• Previous experience working with community actors, parents, and guardians.
• Experience in managing partnerships and collaborations. 1
• Desirable experience working in Baja Verapaz and Jalapa. 1
• Valid driver's license for 4x4 vehicles.

Educational Background:
Candidates should possess a relevant educational background, ideally holding a bachelor's degree in fields such as Social Sciences, Psychology, or Social Work. A postgraduate degree is considered an asset, particularly in areas related to gender studies, development, or public health. Continuous professional development in project management and related fields is encouraged to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in managing social projects, with a strong emphasis on community engagement and capacity building. Candidates should have a proven track record of working with marginalized groups, particularly youth, and should demonstrate experience in implementing programs that address issues such as early pregnancies and gender-based violence. Familiarity with local contexts in Baja Verapaz and Jalapa is advantageous, as is experience in collaborating with governmental and non-governmental organizations.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and with local partners. Proficiency in English is considered a valuable asset, as it may facilitate communication with international stakeholders and enhance the candidate's ability to engage with diverse audiences. Knowledge of local languages may also be beneficial in community interactions.

Additional Notes:
The position is primarily office-based (80%) with frequent fieldwork (20%) requiring travel within the country where Plan International operates.
