Job Overview:
The Programme Analyst position is based in Belize City, within one of the Liaison offices of the UNFPA Sub-regional Offices for the Caribbean (SROC). This role involves providing programmatic leadership in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) both within the UNFPA SROC and in collaboration with various stakeholders, including UN agencies, civil society organizations, and government entities. The Programme Analyst will oversee the adolescent Pregnancy Prevention project in Belize and Suriname, facilitating the implementation of the 2025-2029 programme titled 'Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention in Belize and Suriname: Empowering Adolescent Girls to Realize their Full Potential.' The role requires close collaboration with technical and programme staff in both the Regional and Sub-Regional Offices, ensuring effective communication and coordination of project activities. The Programme Analyst will be responsible for monitoring compliance with activity schedules, managing programme and financial implementation, and providing technical support to UNFPA's implementing partners.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Health, Population, Demography, or a related social science discipline. Additionally, candidates should have experience in programme management and stakeholder coordination, particularly in the areas of sexual and reproductive health, gender-based violence, and gender equality. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to draft and edit documents professionally. Candidates should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse partners, including grassroots organizations and government authorities. The ability to lead strategy formation and implementation, build effective partnerships, and adapt to challenging environments is also required.
Educational Background:
A Master’s degree in Health, Population, Demography, or a related social science discipline is required for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of sexual and reproductive health issues and for effectively managing programmes aimed at addressing these challenges.
Experience:
Candidates should have professional work experience in programme management and stakeholder coordination, particularly in the fields of sexual and reproductive health, gender-based violence, and gender equality. Experience with social behavior strategies is considered a strong asset. The role requires the ability to work effectively in a multicultural team and adapt to various challenges in the work environment.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in other official UN languages, particularly Spanish, is desirable and considered an advantage.

- Providing technical guidance for the selection of implementing partners and identifying their capacity-building needs.
- Leading the coordination of technical assistance, mentoring, training, and capacity development initiatives for partners.
- Monitoring programme expenditures and disbursements to ensure alignment with approved budgets and targeted delivery levels.
- Ensuring timely and effective implementation of UNFPA activities as outlined in the annual operational plan.
- Strengthening multi-sectoral partnerships with government agencies, civil society, UN agencies, and development partners for coordinated programme development and implementation.
- Maintaining communication with the Representative/Head of Office and other stakeholders to ensure effective project implementation.
- Identifying promising practices and strategic opportunities related to indigenous and Tribal populations in Belize and Suriname.
- Supporting programme reporting and contributing to the development of communication materials for advocacy and information dissemination.
- Preparing progress reports, presentations, and systematizing activities for project evaluation and reporting. 1
