Job Overview:
The Information Management Analyst will play a crucial role in the UNFPA Humanitarian Response Team, working under the supervision of the UNFPA Country Representative and the Humanitarian Coordinator. This position is designed to enhance the effectiveness of emergency responses by processing and analyzing reliable data regarding affected populations and their urgent needs. The analyst will support strategic and operational decision-making, integrate gender considerations into assessments, and establish a national information network to facilitate humanitarian information exchange. The role also involves improving mobile application systems for real-time information management. The analyst may be deployed to various regions in the Philippines, including Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, and CARAGA Region, depending on the activation of emergency responses.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Information Management Analyst will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including: assisting in the planning, coordination, and implementation of emergency responses; ensuring the quality of information collected and developing standards for data management; collecting and analyzing data related to emergency responses; developing disaggregated information products on affected populations; organizing and archiving relevant data; defining user needs for information management; identifying new user groups and conducting user requirement analyses; maintaining partnerships with specialized agencies for sectorial surveys; building local capacity in information management; creating maps for effective communication; collaborating with other specialists within the UNFPA Country Office; developing internal and external reports; and undertaking any other related responsibilities as required by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Information Management Analyst position should possess a strong background in information management, data analysis, and humanitarian response. They should demonstrate adaptability and flexibility, creativity, sound judgment, and decision-making skills. The ability to plan and organize effectively, maintain professionalism, and manage self is essential. Candidates should also have experience in working with diverse teams and stakeholders, particularly in emergency contexts.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background is required for this position, typically including a degree in information management, data science, social sciences, or a related field. Advanced degrees may be preferred, particularly for candidates with extensive experience in humanitarian settings or information management roles.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of several years of relevant experience in information management, data analysis, or related fields, particularly within humanitarian contexts. Experience working with UN agencies or international organizations is highly desirable, as is familiarity with emergency response mechanisms and data management systems.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the UNFPA and in humanitarian contexts. Knowledge of local languages spoken in the Philippines may be advantageous, particularly for effective communication with local stakeholders and communities.

This position is classified as a National UN Volunteer role, which includes various entitlements such as an Entry Lump Sum Allowance, a Monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) for National UN Volunteer Specialists in Manila, and comprehensive insurance coverage.
