Job Overview:
The Program Officer will oversee the implementation of the presbyopia program across eight districts in Chhattisgarh, focusing on integrating eye screening and dispensing near vision glasses within primary healthcare settings. This role requires collaboration with field coordinators and government officials to ensure the program's objectives are met. The officer will be responsible for designing operational plans, managing relationships with stakeholders, and supporting the capacity building of healthcare workers. The position demands a highly motivated individual with strong program implementation capabilities and a commitment to excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Program Officer's responsibilities include designing operational plans for the presbyopia program, supervising District and Block Coordinators, managing relationships with government and non-government stakeholders, supporting data reporting and evaluation tools, facilitating training sessions for healthcare workers, overseeing referral mechanisms from NCD clinics to presbyopia screening services, implementing inventory management plans, and preparing documentation for stakeholders. The officer will also be required to travel to project districts and national destinations as needed and perform any additional responsibilities assigned by program leadership.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in economics, public health, business, or a related field, along with a minimum of five years of professional experience in program implementation supervision at the state level. They should demonstrate effective communication skills, experience in data collection and analysis, and proficiency in MS Office. An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work independently on complex projects in a fast-paced environment are essential. The candidate should also be able to multi-task and maintain a strong commitment to excellence.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as economics, public health, or business is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of program implementation and public health systems.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of professional experience in supervising program implementation at the state level. Candidates should have a proven track record of engaging with government officials and community stakeholders, as well as experience in data collection and analysis for program evaluation.

Languages:
Fluency in Hindi (both written and verbal) is mandatory for this position. Additionally, working knowledge of Chhattisgarhi is preferred, as it will facilitate communication with local communities and stakeholders.
