Job Overview:
The Sexual and Reproductive Health in Emergencies (SRHiE) Analyst will play a crucial role within the UNFPA Humanitarian Response Team, focusing on coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) activities during emergencies. This position is vital for ensuring the continuity of life-saving SRH and gender-based violence (GBV) services in the Philippines, a country prone to various natural disasters and humanitarian crises. The SRHiE Analyst will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for SRH, advocating for reproductive health services, and ensuring quality care through capacity building and monitoring of SRH activities. The role may involve deployment to various regions affected by emergencies, where the analyst will work closely with local and national partners to enhance service delivery and address the needs of vulnerable populations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The SRHiE Analyst will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
  • Supporting the implementation of the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for SRH and monitoring progress.
  • Advocating for reproductive health services and ensuring quality of care through capacity building and provision of emergency SRH supplies.
  • Identifying operational partnerships and coordinating the provision of medical supplies to partners.
  • Advising on the integration of comprehensive health services into primary health care as the situation stabilizes.
  • Providing leadership and support in SRH coordination and programming at national and sub-national levels.
  • Facilitating coordination among SRH stakeholders and assisting in the reproduction of national guidelines and IEC materials.
  • Conducting routine needs assessments and proposing improvements for SRH service delivery.
  • Facilitating capacity building for health service providers, including Training of Trainers.
  • Collecting, analyzing, and providing feedback on SRH data to partners and the Country Office. 1
  • Monitoring and evaluating SRH interventions and preparing reports on the use of commodities and supplies. 1
  • Assisting in proposal writing for resource mobilization. 1
  • Performing any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in sexual and reproductive health, public health, or a related field. They should demonstrate excellent coordination and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure. Knowledge of humanitarian response mechanisms and experience in emergency settings are highly desirable. Candidates should also have a proven track record of engaging with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations. Strong analytical skills and the ability to collect and interpret data are essential for this role.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background is required, typically a degree in public health, sexual and reproductive health, or a related field. Advanced degrees (Master's or higher) are preferred, particularly for candidates with extensive experience in humanitarian settings or SRH programming.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in sexual and reproductive health, public health, or humanitarian response. Experience working in emergency settings, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region, is highly advantageous. Familiarity with UN systems and procedures is also beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of local languages spoken in the Philippines is an asset, as it can enhance communication with local partners and communities.

Additional Notes:
This position is a National UN Volunteer role, which includes a range of entitlements such as a monthly living allowance, insurance coverage, and annual leave. The role may involve travel to various regions in the Philippines, depending on the emergency response needs. The position is full-time and may require flexibility in working hours to respond to urgent situations. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to improving the health and well-being of vulnerable populations during humanitarian crises.
