Job Overview:
The Vice President of Global Health at Pact will play a pivotal role in leading the global health portfolio into its next phase of growth, innovation, and impact. This position requires an enthusiastic and respected public health professional with significant experience in delivering health programs. The VP will report directly to the President/CEO and will be a key member of Pact’s Senior Management Team (SMT). The role demands a strategic leader who possesses proven leadership and management skills, along with a genuine passion for Pact’s mission and the potential for impactful health initiatives. The VP will be responsible for providing strategic and technical leadership, engaging and inspiring team members, and collaborating across various health and impact areas to address complex health challenges. The VP will also be tasked with enhancing Pact's visibility and relationships in the global health sector, representing the organization at conferences and events, and developing innovative strategies for growth and impact.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The VP Global Health will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
  • Providing strategic and technical leadership for Pact’s global health portfolio, focusing on growth, impact, and results.
  • Engaging and inspiring team members, colleagues, partners, and funders to collaboratively solve complex health problems.
  • Building Pact’s visibility and relationships within the global health community, including with key donors and stakeholders.
  • Leading the development and execution of Pact’s global health strategy, fostering innovation and fresh thinking.
  • Overseeing the implementation of health activities, including business development and program delivery.
  • Managing Global Health's business development efforts, including market analysis and resource allocation.
  • Leading and managing the global health team, fostering a collaborative culture, and ensuring high performance.
  • Ensuring that health approaches on projects are technically sound and that lessons learned are integrated into future initiatives.
  • Committing to the highest ethical and compliance standards in all health programs and business development activities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree and at least 13 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including a minimum of 9 years in management roles. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic public health expert with a proven track record in global leadership and a passion for Pact’s mission. Personal attributes should include credibility, authenticity, and the ability to inspire others. The candidate should also demonstrate strengths in leading strategy, innovation, and execution, with a commitment to ethical standards and collaboration.

Educational Background:
The position requires an advanced clinical degree (MD) in family medicine, primary care, pediatrics, or a relevant global health discipline, along with significant leadership experience in international health contexts. A Master’s degree or higher in public health, medicine, or a related discipline is also required, complemented by at least 15 years of professional experience in international development.

Experience:
Candidates should have 15-20 years of experience in development program implementation in low-resource settings, with a strong background in global health within the context of international development. Experience with business development and delivering results in international development is essential, as is a proven ability to lead high-performing teams, including virtual teams, in a collaborative manner.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required, with excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in another relevant language is preferred but not mandatory.

Additional Notes:
This position is expected to involve travel to Pact’s countries of operation as needed. The role is full-time and may require the candidate to engage in high-pressure situations while managing multiple tasks. The VP Global Health will be expected to maintain a proactive and assertive leadership style, demonstrating strong intellectual agility and the ability to prioritize effectively.
