The UNEP Policy Systems Analyst position is situated within the UN Environment Management Group (EMG) Secretariat, located in Nairobi. The primary focus of this position is to enhance the technical, programmatic, and operational work of the EMG Secretariat through innovation and technological advancement. The incumbent will be responsible for designing and implementing digital tools and methodologies, managing data collection and analysis, and facilitating effective communication of information through visualizations and reports. The role also includes training co-workers on data collection and analytical tools, ensuring that the EMG Secretariat remains at the forefront of technological developments relevant to its mission.

Additional Notes:
The contract for this position is subject to availability of funding and operational necessity, with no expectation of renewal. UN Volunteers receive a Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) to cover basic needs, which is adjusted based on the cost of living in the duty station. Additional benefits include life and health insurance, travel allowances for official duties, and a resettlement allowance upon satisfactory completion of the assignment. - Creating high-quality visuals, presentations, and reports based on data analyses.
- Collaborating with EMG members to curate and customize information for UN entities.
- Maintaining data repositories and ensuring data integrity and quality through best practices in data management.
- Facilitating the use of advanced analytical tools for data storage and transformation.
- Training colleagues on data collection and analytical tools, while keeping abreast of technological advancements.
- Contributing to the development of capacity through coaching and mentoring of national staff and partners.
- Documenting and integrating Age, Gender, and Diversity (AGD) perspectives in all activities.
