Job Overview:
The Mental Health and psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Psychosocial Support Analyst will play a crucial role in strengthening institutional and partner capacities in the Philippines, particularly in the context of humanitarian emergencies. This position involves close coordination with the Country Office's Humanitarian and Programme units to enhance inter-agency collaboration, promote quality assurance, and contribute to emergency preparedness and response efforts. The analyst will be responsible for conducting assessments of existing MHPSS capacities, leading the design and implementation of culturally appropriate interventions, and integrating MHPSS considerations into sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and gender-based violence (GBV) programming. The role also includes developing technical guidance and training materials, ensuring that MHPSS programming adheres to principles of protection and human rights, and identifying opportunities for innovative approaches to improve service delivery in humanitarian settings.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the MHPSS Analyst include: conducting rapid assessments of MHPSS capacities and service availability; leading the adaptation and implementation of evidence-informed MHPSS interventions; integrating MHPSS considerations into SRH and GBV programming; developing technical guidance and training materials; ensuring adherence to protection and human rights principles; supporting the development of sustainability strategies for MHPSS services; designing capacity strengthening programs for various stakeholders; leading inter-agency training programs; developing monitoring and evaluation tools; representing UNFPA in coordination mechanisms; and advocating for the prioritization of MHPSS in humanitarian policies and response plans. The analyst will also be responsible for preparing high-quality reports and documentation related to MHPSS programming.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong background in mental health and psychosocial support, with a focus on humanitarian contexts. They should demonstrate expertise in program development, capacity building, and inter-agency coordination. Strong analytical skills, the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, and a commitment to human rights and gender equality are essential. Familiarity with international humanitarian standards and guidelines related to MHPSS is also required. Candidates should be adaptable, creative, and possess excellent communication skills to effectively engage with various partners and communities.

Educational Background:
A relevant advanced degree in psychology, social work, public health, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in mental health and psychosocial support, trauma-informed care, or related areas will be considered an asset. Continuous professional development in relevant fields is encouraged to ensure up-to-date knowledge and skills.

Experience:
Candidates should have substantial experience (typically 5 years or more) in mental health and psychosocial support programming, particularly in emergency settings. Experience working with UN agencies, NGOs, or government organizations in humanitarian contexts is highly desirable. Proven track record in program management, capacity building, and inter-agency collaboration is essential for this role.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Filipino or other local languages is highly desirable, as it will facilitate communication with local partners and communities. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the region may also be beneficial.

Additional Notes:
This position is part of the UNFPA's Humanitarian Emergency Response (HER) Roster, which allows for rapid deployment in response to emergencies. Inclusion in the roster does not guarantee recruitment, as selection will depend on the occurrence of emergencies and the availability of candidates. The role may involve travel to various regions in the Philippines, including Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, and CARAGA Region. The position is full-time and may require flexible working hours to accommodate emergency response needs. Compensation includes a monthly living allowance, insurance coverage, and annual leave entitlements.
