Job Overview:
The Associate Director, Advocacy Impact will play a crucial role in the Global Policy and Advocacy team, which is part of the External Relations Department. This position is pivotal in defining targeted advocacy strategies that align with IRC's highest-priority objectives, ensuring that these strategies translate into measurable impact for individuals affected by crises. The role involves leading the development of integrated advocacy strategies that connect country program crisis priorities with Refugee, Asylum, and Integration (RAI) priorities. The Associate Director will be responsible for pushing IRC's advocacy efforts beyond conventional approaches through innovative campaigns and high-impact engagements. This includes spearheading new models for advocacy engagement, such as virtual visits to IRC country programs, and coordinating advocacy in regions where IRC lacks a dedicated advocate. The successful candidate will work closely with various teams within IRC to craft advocacy strategies that support the organization's Impact at Scale priorities, and will be instrumental in mapping influential advocacy stakeholders to enhance IRC's advocacy efforts.

- Drive advocacy impact at scale by ensuring that Policy and Advocacy strategies are designed and sequenced to deliver influence commensurate with the scale of crises that IRC responds to.
- Collaborate with team leads to define what impact at scale means for their portfolios and build frameworks for advocacy to key stakeholders.
- Maximize global advocacy moments by leading cross-team planning to ensure IRC speaks with one voice during high-profile events like the UN General Assembly.
- Identify key moments within multilateral processes where targeted advocacy can shift outcomes.
- Expand and diversify advocacy engagement models by piloting new approaches, including virtual visits to IRC country programs.
- Drive creative campaigns to achieve IRC's advocacy objectives by supporting market directors in power-mapping stakeholders and developing innovative advocacy strategies.
- Maintain strong relationships and processes across the Policy and Advocacy team and the broader IRC to keep advocacy impact at scale central to the organization's agenda.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 7-8 years of work experience, preferably in advocacy roles within international organizations, NGOs, or government.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in designing and implementing strategic planning processes.
- A positive, resourceful, and flexible attitude with problem-solving skills.
- Strong project management skills, ideally within cross-organizational teams.
- Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to translate policy solutions into actionable advocacy points.
