Job Overview:
The National Project Officer will play a crucial role in the coordination and management of various IOM projects and programs within the assigned province in Chad. This position is vital for enhancing community stability by improving access to social services and basic infrastructure, supporting community resilience, and fostering social cohesion through peace promotion and conflict prevention mechanisms. The officer will work under the general supervision of the Chief of Programs and direct supervision of the Project Manager/Chief of Sub-office in Faya, ensuring that project activities align with IOM's strategic objectives and are implemented effectively. The role requires a strong focus on technical support, planning, implementation, and monitoring of community stabilization and peacebuilding activities, necessitating close collaboration with other IOM departments and local stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The National Project Officer will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: supporting the Project Manager in coordinating and managing administrative, human, and logistical resources for IOM in the intervention area; planning and implementing project activities within the designated area of responsibility; assisting in the representation and coordination of IOM interventions in the assigned province; participating in community-based planning processes, identifying, prioritizing, and planning initiatives in collaboration with local committees; providing technical support for the implementation and monitoring of community stabilization and peacebuilding activities in accordance with donor strategies and requirements; contributing to the development of partnerships and providing technical support to strategic partners for community stabilization and peacebuilding; identifying new areas for intervention in community stabilization, conflict prevention, and peacebuilding; assisting in the drafting and development of new project proposals and providing contextual technical analyses; supporting the Project Manager in preparing periodic narrative reports through data collection, analysis, and synthesis; and ensuring effective communication and visibility of project achievements, best practices, and lessons learned to diverse stakeholders, in line with IOM standards and donor requirements. The officer may also be assigned additional tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in Social Sciences, Law, International Relations, Political Science, or a related field with at least 3 years of relevant professional experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. A solid background in project management, particularly in conflict prevention, peacebuilding, and social cohesion, is essential. Familiarity with the context of Chad, especially regarding conflict dynamics, development, and politics, is highly desirable. Experience in communication and collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders, including government entities and international institutions, is an advantage.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree in relevant fields such as Social Sciences, Law, International Relations, or Political Science. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in a related field is acceptable if accompanied by additional years of relevant experience. Candidates should have graduated from accredited institutions recognized by the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
