Job Overview:
The Early Childhood Development Program Incentive Worker will play a crucial role in the implementation of the 'Ahlan Simsim' program, which aims to provide early learning and nurturing care to children and caregivers affected by conflict and displacement. This position involves working closely with the Early Childhood Development Program Officer-HSK to disseminate and implement service and awareness messages. The worker will be responsible for introducing the program to local communities, linking them to available services, and assisting program staff in achieving their work requirements. The role requires a proactive approach to community engagement and a commitment to fostering inclusive environments for children and caregivers.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The ECD Incentive Worker will undertake a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: facilitating communication between IRC staff, community leaders, and target population representatives; acting as a focal point for IRC's access to sites and populations; providing information and awareness sessions about ECD services; mobilizing communities and updating them on service availability; participating in and delivering awareness sessions to local communities and caregivers; facilitating interactive ECD sessions for children aged 0-8 and male caregivers; collecting and entering data as needed; attending training and capacity-building workshops; assisting program employees in service provision; and adhering to IRC's Global HR Policies and Procedures. The responsibilities are indicative and may change based on organizational priorities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree, preferably in a field related to Early Childhood Development, such as kindergarten education or classroom teaching. Additionally, candidates should have a strong commitment to the mission and values of the IRC, with credible communication skills and the ability to convey information effectively. Organizational skills, effective communication, and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-cultural context are essential. Candidates should also have a validated sense of discretion and integrity, with the ability to handle complex situations diplomatically.

Educational Background:
A university degree in a relevant field, particularly related to Early Childhood Development, is required. This educational background is crucial for understanding the developmental needs of children and the best practices in early childhood education.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least two years of experience working in early childhood development programs, as well as experience in dealing with children and caregivers. Experience in Child Protection and Case Management programs is preferred, along with at least one year of experience in facilitation. Familiarity with data collection applications such as ComCare and Kobo is required, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is preferred.

Languages:
Fluency in Arabic, both spoken and written, is mandatory for this position. This language proficiency is essential for effective communication with local communities and stakeholders. While not mandatory, knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset.

This position is based in Syria and encourages applications from national or returning national candidates.
