Job Overview:
The NGO Platform Coordinator will lead the NGO Platform (NGOP) Secretariat, a crucial coordination mechanism for national and international NGOs involved in the Rohingya refugee response and broader humanitarian operations in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh. This role involves strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the Secretariat, ensuring that the Platform effectively delivers its priorities while maintaining neutrality and representing the collective interests of its members. The Coordinator will engage with various stakeholders, including NGOs, government authorities, UN agencies, donors, and other humanitarian actors, to strengthen collaboration, advocacy, humanitarian access, and accountability to affected populations. This position is pivotal in supporting humanitarian access, promoting evidence-based decision-making, and advancing principled humanitarian action for Rohingya refugees and host communities. The Coordinator will also play a significant role in shaping humanitarian coordination in Bangladesh and influencing key decision-makers to improve outcomes for vulnerable communities through collective action and partnership.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead and strengthen engagement with NGO networks, consortia, coordination platforms, governments, UN agencies, donors, and other strategic partners.
• Represent the organization in external forums, influencing policy discussions and advocating for effective humanitarian action.
• Develop and maintain strategic partnerships that support organizational priorities and humanitarian objectives.
• Provide leadership on humanitarian coordination and response efforts in complex and dynamic operating environments.
• Contribute to strategic planning processes and support the delivery of organizational objectives.
• Foster collaborative ways of working and build strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
• Promote an inclusive, values-driven culture that supports teamwork, innovation, and continuous learning.

Required Qualifications:

• Significant experience in humanitarian coordination, humanitarian response, or international development, with a proven track record in senior coordination, leadership, or management roles.
• Significant experience working with NGO networks, consortia, or coordination platforms.
• Strong experience engaging with governments, UN agencies, donors, and other external stakeholders.
• Proven experience in strategic planning and partnership management.
• Experience in complex humanitarian emergencies.
• Experience in humanitarian policy, advocacy, and external representation.
• Demonstrated experience operating in complex humanitarian emergency contexts.
• Experience supporting proposal development and donor reporting.
• A collaborative and supportive team player with a proactive, creative, and solutions-focused approach, able to take initiative and drive results.

Educational Background:
A relevant degree in international development, humanitarian studies, social sciences, or a related field is typically required for this position. Advanced degrees or specialized training in humanitarian coordination or related areas may be advantageous.

Experience:
The position requires a high level of experience, specifically in humanitarian coordination or international development, with a strong background in leading coordination and partnership initiatives in complex environments. Previous experience working in Bangladesh or similar humanitarian contexts is highly desirable, as it provides valuable insights into the local dynamics and challenges.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and with external stakeholders. Knowledge of Bengali or other local languages is considered an asset, as it can enhance communication and engagement with local communities and partners.

Additional Notes:
This is a full-time role with a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension to 24 months. The position is based in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, and reports directly to the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director.
