Job Overview:
The Education Prospects Knowledge Management and Evidence Associate position is designed to support the UNICEF Global Program Division's Education Centre of Excellence in enhancing knowledge management, evidence generation, and learning regarding the inclusion of refugee, displaced, and migrant children and adolescents in education systems. The role emphasizes learning continuity, access, progression, and educational inclusion, particularly in countries involved in the PROSPECTS Partnership, which includes Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Uganda. The associate will work closely with various stakeholders, including UNICEF country offices and youth engagement components, to ensure that educational practices are informed by evidence and that the needs of children on the move are adequately addressed. This position is crucial in supporting UNICEF's strategic goals and commitments to leave no child behind, particularly in the context of forced displacement and migration.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Education Prospects Knowledge Management and Evidence Associate include:
  • Supporting Knowledge Management, Learning, and Evidence Related to Education for Children on the Move by developing and maintaining a repository of promising practices, tools, policies, and guidance.
  • Assisting in coordinating with UNICEF country offices to compile lessons learned on the inclusion of refugee and displaced children in national education systems, which involves creating templates and tools for streamlined information gathering.
  • Supporting the development of knowledge products, including case studies, blogs, newsletters, and briefing notes on education for children on the move.
  • Disseminating UNICEF guidance and learning products related to refugee and migrant education through various channels.
  • Supporting global advocacy milestones under the PROSPECTS4Youth technical facility and the Youth Advisory Board/Network.
  • Conducting literature reviews and desk research on educational inclusion for displaced and migrant children in focus countries.
  • Mapping and analyzing barriers and enablers affecting access, retention, progression, certification, and educational participation for displaced and migrant children.
  • Contributing to the development of country profiles and thematic analyses on refugee inclusion and alternative education pathways.
  • Supporting the creation of templates, briefing notes, and other documents on refugee inclusion and educational continuity.

Required Qualifications:

The role is a full-time volunteer position under the UN Associate Volunteers program, offering a monthly living allowance of JOD 916.04, along with annual and learning leaves, free medical and life insurance, and access to various learning platforms.
