The URRI Partnerships and Programme Implementation Coordinator is a pivotal role within the Uganda Refugee Resilience Initiative (URRI) program, which aims to enhance climate resilience among vulnerable populations in refugee and host communities. This position is responsible for providing technical support and coordination among various partners, including local governments and implementing organizations. The coordinator will ensure that programmatic activities are executed in a timely manner, focusing on capacity strengthening initiatives that target district local governments and implementing partners. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders to achieve the program's objectives. The coordinator will also be involved in monitoring and evaluating program performance, ensuring that activities align with DRC and donor quality standards, and promoting adaptive management based on contextual changes and monitoring findings.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Environment, Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field. Candidates should possess broad knowledge of climate-smart agriculture, resilience design, and environmental conservation. Experience working with international NGOs on donor-funded projects is essential, along with a proven track record in coordinating multi-partner programs. Strong report writing, communication, and facilitation skills are mandatory, as well as a commitment to gender equality and accountability practices. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.
Educational Background:
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Environment, Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, Development Studies, or Social Sciences. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of climate resilience and program implementation in refugee-affected areas.
Experience:
A minimum of 6 years of full-time relevant professional experience in capacity strengthening, program coordination, and program cycle management is required. Candidates should have experience working in challenging environments and with diverse stakeholders, particularly in the context of refugee assistance and development programs.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of local languages spoken in the districts covered by the program is desirable. This linguistic capability will enhance communication with local partners and communities.

The contract for this position is for a duration of 4 months, with a designated duty station in Arua, Uganda. The expected start date is September 202

- Coordinating program implementation to ensure activities align with work plans and guidelines.
- Conducting regular field monitoring visits to assess activity progress and provide feedback to partners.
- Addressing challenges identified during monitoring visits promptly.
- Disseminating lessons learned and best practices among partners.
- Collaborating with URRI technical coordinators and program managers to ensure timely production of reports and documentation.
- Maintaining program risk registers and supporting mitigation planning.
- Preparing high-quality program reports with inputs from consortium partners.
- Holding bi-weekly meetings with the Consortium Manager for strategic updates.
- Working with the MEAL team to monitor program performance indicators. 1
- Ensuring program implementation meets quality standards and is evidence-based, conflict-sensitive, and gender-responsive. 1
- Supporting consortia partners in maintaining relationships with key stakeholders. 1
- Representing URRI in coordination forums and technical working groups. 1
- Organizing quarterly engagements with the Office of the Prime Minister and ensuring proper documentation. 1
- Facilitating capacity building for district local governments and implementing partners. 1
- Monitoring and promoting visibility for DANIDA and URRI communication guidelines. 1
- Performing additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
