Job Overview:
The Caseworker position is designed to provide trauma-informed services to refugees and other qualified immigrants, ensuring a positive resettlement experience and aiding in the achievement of client self-sufficiency. The Caseworker will engage closely with clients, colleagues, and external partners to create tailored service and self-sufficiency plans that align with individual client needs and preferences. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of various services and resources, including financial, medical, social, and vocational support, all while adhering to client eligibility and program requirements. The position is set to conclude on September 30, 2027, emphasizing the importance of sustained support during the resettlement process.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Caseworker's responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks aimed at facilitating the successful integration of clients into their new environment. Key duties include coordinating timely pre- and post-arrival services to ensure clients have access to essential living resources such as housing, food, medical care, and transportation. The Caseworker will conduct intake assessments to evaluate client needs, develop personalized self-sufficiency plans, and provide ongoing support through direct services, referrals, and advocacy. Monitoring client progress is crucial, as is documenting each interaction in compliance with program requirements. The Caseworker will also input client information into databases and assist with tracking and reporting as necessary. Collaboration with coworkers and partner organizations is essential, as is building and maintaining relationships with local service providers. The role may involve training and leading volunteers and interns, along with other assigned duties.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Caseworker position should possess a Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field, although relevant professional experience in the human services sector is also highly valued. A minimum of two years of experience is strongly preferred, particularly with refugee and immigrant populations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong relationship-building skills, diplomacy, and the ability to effectively communicate in a multicultural environment. A self-starter with excellent problem-solving abilities, the Caseworker must be adept at multitasking, prioritizing duties, and managing time efficiently. Attention to detail and accuracy in work output are essential.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field is preferred for this position. This educational background equips candidates with the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively support clients in their resettlement journey.

Experience:
The position requires relevant professional experience in the human services field, with a strong preference for candidates who have at least two years of experience. Experience working directly with refugee and immigrant populations is particularly advantageous, as it provides insight into the unique challenges these clients face during resettlement.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is mandatory for this role. Additionally, proficiency in languages commonly spoken by IRC clients, such as Dari, Farsi, and/or Pashto, is highly desirable and can enhance the Caseworker's ability to communicate effectively with clients.

Additional Notes:
The Caseworker position offers a combination of standard office work, remote tasks, and fieldwork within the service delivery area.
