Job Overview:
The CCCM Assistant position is crucial for district-level coordination and management of collective shelters as part of a project funded by the Lebanon Humanitarian Fund (LHF). The role emphasizes Site Management and Coordination (SMC) while integrating protection mainstreaming across all activities. The CCCM Assistant will be responsible for site monitoring, service mapping, community engagement, information management, and strengthening community structures. This position requires close collaboration with Protection, Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and Child Protection teams to ensure comprehensive, community-led responses. The CCCM Assistant will also support shelter care and maintenance activities, conduct safety audits, establish and train community committees, and implement functional Complaints and Feedback Mechanisms (CFMs). This is a field-based role that necessitates daily presence in collective shelters across Beirut, Mount Lebanon, and potentially other Governorates, with extended periods spent in the field.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The CCCM Assistant will undertake a variety of duties and responsibilities, including: conducting regular site monitoring visits to assess needs, identify new arrivals, and detect gaps in service provision; ensuring effective referral and escalation of identified needs to relevant service providers and humanitarian coordination structures; developing and maintaining site-level service mapping to track ongoing services and referral pathways; conducting household-level registration and roster verification in collaboration with MoSA focal points; supporting site planning to ensure dignified living conditions for residents; escalating housing, land, and property (HLP) concerns to relevant authorities; maintaining networks of key informants at IDP sites for timely information flow; assisting in the registration of new IDPs and identifying their protection-related needs; supporting data collection exercises; ensuring the establishment of accessible information points in collective shelters; co-facilitating community-led safety audits; identifying site care and maintenance needs; maintaining existing committees and establishing new Site Management Committees (SMCs); coordinating with service providers and local authorities; attending sector coordination meetings; and preparing weekly work and movement plans for validation.
Required Qualifications:
To be considered for the CCCM Assistant position, candidates must possess a diploma or bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as civil engineering, architecture, or sociology. Previous experience working in the field with an international non-governmental organization (INGO) or United Nations (UN) agency in an emergency setting is essential. Candidates should have 0 to 1 years of experience in a similar role or related position. Basic computer skills, particularly in MS Word and MS Excel, are required, and familiarity with data collection tools such as Kobo is desirable. Experience in CCCM or community engagement is also beneficial. Professional working proficiency in the English language is mandatory.
Educational Background:
