Job Overview:
The purpose of this consultancy is to provide confidential, demand-based psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">psychosocial support services to UNICEF personnel. This includes short-term individual counselling, crisis support following critical incidents, and structured wellbeing workshops. The consultant will work closely with the National Staff Counsellor to strengthen staff resilience and support psychological stabilization during emergencies. The role is crucial in ensuring timely referrals to specialized care when necessary and in promoting adaptive coping strategies among staff in a high-stress humanitarian environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for providing short-term, confidential individual counselling sessions to UNICEF personnel upon request. They will deliver crisis support and psychological first response following critical incidents or acute stress events. The consultant will conduct brief psychosocial assessments, provide stabilization support, and identify cases requiring specialized or long-term care, ensuring appropriate referrals are made. Additionally, the consultant will develop and deliver at least four remote wellbeing workshops per year, focusing on topics such as psychosocial wellbeing, coping strategies, and resilience-building. Regular coordination meetings with the National Staff Counsellor will be required, along with the submission of monthly aggregated reports detailing the services provided and emerging themes.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Psychology or a related field, along with certification in at least one recognized psychotherapy or counselling approach. Formal training in crisis response, Psychological First Aid, or trauma-informed approaches is strongly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate strong clinical judgement, ethical practice, and the ability to provide crisis stabilization and short-term counselling. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality are essential.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree in Psychology or a related field is required. Certification in recognized psychotherapy or counselling approaches is necessary, along with formal training in crisis response or emergency mental health interventions.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least three years of demonstrated experience in providing individual counselling and crisis intervention services, particularly in emergency or high-stress environments. Experience in delivering psychosocial workshops or group interventions is also required, along with ongoing professional supervision practice.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of Ukrainian or other relevant languages is desirable, especially for national consultants.
