Job Overview:
The Field Project Assistant will play a crucial role in the planning, management, and implementation of community activities related to the project 'Safeguarding Nong Han Wetland – A Critical Moment for Thailand’s Freshwater Future.' This position is based in Sakon Nakhon Province and involves ensuring compliance with the Project Document and WWF’s contractual obligations concerning water resource management and wetland ecosystem restoration. The assistant will work closely with local communities, district and sub-district officers, and other stakeholders to enhance living quality through sustainable agricultural practices and conservation efforts. The role requires a proactive approach to community engagement and collaboration, as well as the ability to monitor and evaluate project activities effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary duties and responsibilities of the Field Project Assistant include:

• Planning and implementing project activities focused on community engagement and sustainable practices.
• Collaborating with district and sub-district officers, as well as local communities around the Nong Han Wetland, to improve living quality through sustainable agricultural methods.
• Assisting local communities in enforcing sustainable fishing practices and conservation efforts.
• Supporting the supervisor in monitoring and evaluation processes to develop action plans and necessary documentation.
• Liaising with local and national partners to ensure effective and smooth project operations.
• Engaging in regular communication with stakeholders to foster collaboration and support for project objectives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Agriculture Extension, Natural Resource and Environmental Management, or a related field. Additionally, applicants should have at least one year of practical experience working in the field with communities. Proficiency in work processing, spreadsheet, and project scheduling applications is essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Thai and English are required, along with excellent critical and creative thinking abilities and analytical skills. The ability to perform any other assigned tasks is also necessary.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as Community Development, Agriculture Extension, Natural Resource and Environmental Management, or similar disciplines. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of community engagement and environmental management.

Experience:
The position requires at least one year of practical experience working directly with communities. This experience should ideally involve project management, community engagement, and familiarity with sustainable practices in agriculture and conservation. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to work effectively in diverse environments and with various stakeholders.

Languages:
Fluency in both Thai and English is mandatory for this position, as effective communication with local communities and international partners is essential. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
