Job Overview:
The Community Engagement Team Leader position at DRC HDP is focused on developing and implementing community engagement activities in Afghanistan. The role aims to promote social cohesion, peace, and mitigate the impacts of conflict. The Team Leader will support program staff in organizing and leading conflict mediation trainings, community safety planning, and other community engagement initiatives. This position requires collaboration with the CE Specialist/HDP Manager to conduct conflict analysis, ensuring that all activities are conflict-sensitive. The Team Leader will also be involved in project monitoring, evaluation, and reporting, while mentoring Community Engagement staff based in the Area Office. This role is crucial for fostering community resilience and enhancing the effectiveness of DRC's programs in Afghanistan.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Community Engagement Team Leader will have a variety of responsibilities, including: supporting CE officers with procurement processes and updates; translating training materials and providing interpretation during meetings; planning and conducting trainings on community safety and conflict management; adapting training methodologies and materials; identifying and implementing community safety and social cohesion initiatives; maintaining communication with program staff for mentoring and reporting; establishing linkages with relevant stakeholders; conducting conflict assessments; building capacity in conflict mediation and community safety planning; keeping senior management informed of progress and issues; generating qualitative and quantitative data for project documentation; promoting a culture of learning within the team; supporting recruitment processes; and providing weekly reports to the CE Specialist.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess at least 5 years of work experience in conflict management, conflict analysis, community safety, or youth engagement. They should demonstrate strong analytical and technical skills related to community safety and conflict mediation, along with knowledge and experience working with Afghan communities. The ability to communicate effectively, set priorities, work independently and collaboratively, and coach and train teams is essential. Candidates should also exhibit innovative thinking, political and cultural sensitivity, and strong interpersonal skills.

Educational Background:
A university degree in Social Sciences, Political Law, or a related field is required for this position. The organization encourages qualified females to apply, promoting gender equality within its workforce.
