Job Overview:
The Health Program Manager is responsible for leading the comprehensive health and wellness portfolio of IRC Utah, which encompasses various critical areas such as Health Access, Mental Health, Health Promotion, Community Health Work, and Intensive Case Management. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the services provided are culturally responsive, linguistically accessible, trauma-informed, and strengths-based, specifically tailored to address the Social Determinants of Health for refugees, asylees, and other populations eligible for Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) assistance. The Program Manager will oversee all health and wellness programming, supervise the health and Intensive Case Management (ICM) teams, manage grants and contracts, and spearhead community engagement strategies. Additionally, the role involves strengthening partnerships that enhance access to healthcare, safety, and long-term stability for New American communities. The position reports directly to the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Executive Director, highlighting its significance within the organizational structure.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Health Program Manager will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: effectively managing the development, implementation, compliance, and completion of all service grants and contracts; overseeing program budgets and managing expenses to ensure adherence to allocated budgets; ensuring accurate and timely reporting of services and programmatic data to donors and relevant stakeholders; developing grant proposals and reports related to all areas of contracts and grants within the department; satisfying recordkeeping and reporting requirements; utilizing personal, insured vehicles and/or public transportation to travel and transport clients and materials as necessary throughout the service delivery area; potentially training and leading the activities of volunteers and interns, including MSW students; and performing other duties as assigned. Additionally, the Program Manager will lead a team in accordance with IRC’s People Manager Standards, providing training and leadership to staff in all aspects of program responsibilities, developing and implementing internal program policies and procedures, serving as the point of contact for collaboration with stakeholders, and representing the team within the IRC network at conferences and working groups.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in social work, public health, or a related field of study, with a graduate degree being encouraged. Relevant professional experience in the field of human services is required, with a minimum of 5+ years of supervisory experience strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to foster an organizational culture that reflects IRC’s core values of service, accountability, integrity, and equality. Strong relationship-building, diplomacy, and networking skills are essential, along with the ability to effectively communicate and work in diverse global environments. The working environment for this position is a combination of standard office settings, remote work, and field time within the service delivery area. Occasional domestic travel may be required, up to 10%, and there may be instances where weekend and/or evening work is necessary.
