Job Overview:
The director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director for the CARE Atlantic Cluster will play a pivotal role in leading the organization's efforts across Ghana, Sierra Leone, and Liberia. This position is designed for a dynamic leader who can navigate the complexities of the region while driving strategic growth and transformational impact. The Country Director will be responsible for shaping a new regional operating model, strengthening strategic partnerships, and mobilizing sustainable resources to enhance CARE's impact. The role requires a visionary leader who can inspire high-performing teams and ensure the delivery of high-quality, impactful programs that align with CARE's global priorities and the national development agendas of the respective countries.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in leadership and management, with a proven track record of delivering strategic growth and transformational impact. They should have experience in navigating complex operating environments and managing diverse teams. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to build strategic partnerships and mobilize resources effectively. The candidate should also demonstrate a commitment to CARE's values and mission, with a focus on empowering women and girls and promoting social justice.
Educational Background:
A master's degree in international development, public administration, business administration, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in leadership, management, or relevant areas will be considered an asset. The candidate should have a strong understanding of development issues, particularly in the context of West Africa.
Experience:
Candidates should have at least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in international development, with a focus on program management, strategic planning, and organizational development. Experience working in West Africa or similar contexts is highly desirable. The candidate should have a demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage complex projects effectively.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in local languages spoken in Ghana, Sierra Leone, or Liberia is considered an advantage, as it will enhance communication and relationship-building with local stakeholders.
Additional Notes:
This position is intended for nationals of Ghana, Sierra Leone, or Liberia, with initial priority given to qualified Ghanaian nationals. The role is full-time and may involve travel across the three countries. Compensation and benefits will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
