Job Overview:
The Donor Engagement Intern will be an integral part of the Donor Engagement Europe Team within the Global Business Development (GBD) unit. This team is responsible for managing relationships with IRC's key institutional donors, focusing on funding engagement primarily with DG INTPA, DG MENA, and DG ECHO. The intern will work under the supervision of the Senior Advisor for Donor Engagement and will collaborate closely with the Donor Engagement Officer. The role involves supporting the development and implementation of strategies aimed at fostering proactive and positive relationships with these donors, which is crucial for the successful execution of IRC's organizational strategy, known as Strategy 10

• The intern will also assist with various administrative tasks and ad hoc requests from the team, contributing to the overall effectiveness of donor engagement efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's responsibilities will include conducting research and preparing background analyses related to DG INTPA, DG MENA, DG ENEST, FPI, and DG ECHO. They will assist in preparing briefings for discussions with institutional donors and help implement donor strategies by organizing meetings and working groups. Participation in donor meetings alongside the Senior Advisor and Officer is expected, with the intern responsible for taking minutes. The intern will also support the preparation of external events with EU donors, such as the European Humanitarian Forum 2027, which involves logistics, communication, and drafting briefings. Additionally, the intern will update internal databases and donor tools, coordinate visits of IRC staff to donor capitals, and perform other related tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should have a strong interest in working within an international NGO and possess knowledge or a high interest in the humanitarian and development sectors. Familiarity with development cooperation and humanitarian aid is essential. Strong communication and organizational skills are required, along with the ability to work independently and accurately while paying attention to detail. Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams, is necessary. A proactive and conscientious work ethic is expected, and any knowledge of donors such as DG INTPA, DG MENA, DG ECHO, DG ENEST, and/or FPI would be advantageous.

Educational Background:
While specific educational requirements are not detailed, candidates are typically expected to have a background in international relations, development studies, or a related field that aligns with the responsibilities of the internship.

Experience:
The position is designed for individuals who are either students or recent graduates with an interest in the humanitarian sector. Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, with the ability to speak, write, and understand the language fluently. Knowledge of French is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with a broader range of stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This internship is structured as a six-month position, with the possibility of renewal for up to a maximum of one year. The role allows for remote working up to 40% of the time.
