Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will have a range of responsibilities aimed at supporting the objectives of the Sri Lanka Accountability Project. These duties include reviewing and cataloguing information relevant to OSLap's mandate, maintaining and updating internal documentation repositories, analyzing datasets, and contributing to the production of statistical outputs and visualizations. The intern will also conduct desk-based research on accountability frameworks, synthesize information from various sources, and assist in the planning and coordination of meetings and events. Additionally, the intern may be tasked with performing other related duties as assigned by the supervisor, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the project's goals and activities.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in a graduate program or have completed the final year of a bachelor's degree. A background in law, political science, international relations, social sciences, or records management is preferred. While no professional work experience is required, applicants should demonstrate a keen interest in human rights and the workings of the United Nations. Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills are essential for success in this role.
Educational Background: Applicants must meet one of the following educational requirements: be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent) or have completed the final academic year of a first-level university degree program (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent).
