Job Overview:
The GBV Case Management Officer will work under the direct supervision of the Protection Team Leader and will be responsible for providing essential case management and psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">psychosocial support services to survivors of gender-based violence (GBV), with a particular focus on women and girls. The role requires adherence to best practices and international standards in GBV response, ensuring that survivors receive comprehensive case management services. This includes conducting needs assessments, developing action plans for recovery, making appropriate referrals to relevant services, implementing the action plans, and ensuring proper follow-up and case closure when necessary. The officer will also provide age-appropriate counseling for vulnerable adolescents and children, ensuring that the best interests of the child are prioritized. The position involves delivering quality psychosocial support in both mobile and static safe spaces, including women’s community centers and child-friendly spaces, and facilitating emotional support group sessions and awareness/information sessions. The officer will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of GBV data in the GBV Information Management System (GBVIMS+) and will prepare and submit work plans for validation by the Protection Team Leader. Furthermore, the officer will support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools and participate in supervisory meetings to ensure adherence to care standards and effective case management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The GBV Case Management Officer will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: providing case management services and psychosocial support to survivors of GBV; conducting assessments of needs and developing action plans for recovery; implementing action plans and ensuring follow-up and case closure; providing age-appropriate counseling for vulnerable adolescents and children; delivering psychosocial support in safe spaces; ensuring timely filing and storage of GBV data in compliance with information sharing protocols; preparing and submitting weekly and monthly work plans; supporting the implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools; participating in supervisory meetings; developing and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders; conducting service mapping of service providers; receiving referrals and conducting action plans; sending referrals to agencies; flagging the need for case conferences; updating service mapping monthly; providing feedback to the Protection Team Leader; collaborating with local partners; and performing any other duties as directed by the Protection Team Leader or Protection Manager.

Required Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a minimum of two years of experience in counseling survivors of gender-based violence or working with vulnerable women and girls, as well as experience in child protection case management. A good understanding of GBV core concepts and principles is essential, along with the ability to implement casework using a survivor-centered approach. Strong communication and counseling skills are required, including the ability to effectively communicate with survivors. Previous experience working with Syrian refugees in Lebanon and in international organizations or humanitarian settings is preferred. Candidates should have a solid knowledge of protection principles in humanitarian contexts and the specific situation in Lebanon. The ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination, and the safety of beneficiaries is crucial. Candidates should be comfortable working in a multicultural environment, flexible with working hours, and able to handle pressure effectively. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in computer applications such as MS Word and Excel are also required.

Educational Background:
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate possesses the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively support survivors of gender-based violence and manage cases appropriately.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience in counseling survivors of gender-based violence or working with vulnerable women and girls, as well as experience in child protection case management. This level of experience is necessary to ensure that the candidate is equipped to handle the complexities and sensitivities involved in working with survivors of GBV and to provide effective support and case management.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as all applications and communications will be conducted in English. Knowledge of Arabic is highly desirable, as it will facilitate communication with beneficiaries and stakeholders in Lebanon. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, but English and Arabic are the primary languages required for this position.

Additional Notes:
The contract for this position is set to last until March 2027, with a duty station in Bekaa. The expected start date is August 2026, pending donor approval. The salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Nationals.
