Job Overview:
The Protection Officer will be responsible for providing case management to individuals with specific needs, conducting psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">psychosocial support and counseling, and supporting outreach and awareness-raising activities targeting people with specific needs (PWSN). The position also involves identifying individuals at heightened risk through home visits and coordination with stakeholders, providing age- and disability-appropriate counseling, ensuring confidentiality of case management data, and collaborating with other DRC protection teams and external service providers to facilitate access to relevant services. The officer will prepare and submit work plans, participate in supervisory meetings, maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, and contribute to service mapping of providers in the area.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in delivering specialized case management or counseling to people with specific needs. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field. A good knowledge of case management principles, understanding of disability and inclusion principles, and mental health-related matters are essential. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination, safety, and disability inclusion. Excellent facilitation skills, strong communication and counseling skills, and the ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment are also required. Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel, is necessary, and previous experience in international organizations and humanitarian settings is considered a plus.
Educational Background:
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of case management and the specific needs of vulnerable populations.
Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in delivering specialized case management or counseling to people with specific needs is required. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to handle sensitive situations and provide effective support to individuals at heightened risk.
Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory. Additionally, fluency in the local language is required to effectively communicate with the target population and stakeholders.
Additional Notes:
The contract length for this position is 8 months, with a start date anticipated in August 2026, pending donor approval. The position is classified as Band H non-management, and the duty station is in Bekaa. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Nationals. - Raising gaps in General Protection Specialized response services to the General Protection Officer and Protection Team Leader. 1
