Job Overview:
The UNV Policy Review and Safeguarding Documentation Support Volunteer will play a crucial role in enhancing the organizational policies of Rescue Mission for Street Life. This position involves reviewing and improving existing policy documents that pertain to safeguarding and governance. The volunteer will focus on ensuring that these documents are clear, well-structured, and easily accessible for both staff and volunteers. The work is essential for maintaining high standards of child protection and governance within the organization, as it directly impacts how staff and volunteers interact with vulnerable children. The volunteer's contributions will help streamline the documentation process, making it easier for the organization to uphold its commitment to safeguarding and effective governance practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary duties and responsibilities of the volunteer include:

• Reviewing existing safeguarding and governance policy documents to assess their clarity and effectiveness.
• Collaborating with staff to identify areas for improvement in the documentation.
• Assisting in restructuring and organizing policy documents to enhance their accessibility for internal use.
• Ensuring that all policies reflect strong child protection standards and are in line with best practices.
• Providing feedback and recommendations for the development of new policies as needed.
• Supporting the training of staff and volunteers on the updated policies to ensure understanding and compliance.
• Contributing to the overall mission of the organization by ensuring that safeguarding practices are effectively communicated and implemented.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this volunteer position should possess the following qualifications:

Educational Background:

Experience:

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as all documentation and communication will be conducted in this language. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Uganda may be considered an asset but is not required.
