Job Overview:
The State Engagement Lead for the Type 1 Diabetes Program at WJCF is a pivotal role aimed at enhancing the delivery of Type 1 Diabetes services across public health facilities in India. This position requires a deep understanding of the state's public health system, governance structures, and the barriers to care that individuals with Type 1 Diabetes face. The lead will be responsible for designing and operationalizing program interventions, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement, and supporting day-to-day program operations. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal skills, be flexible, and have a strong commitment to excellence, working independently and across cross-functional teams to achieve the program's goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The State Engagement Lead will be responsible for leading WJCF's Type 1 Diabetes program in collaboration with state government stakeholders, ensuring alignment on ongoing interventions and new initiatives. Key responsibilities include building and maintaining trust-based relationships with senior officials in the Department of Health, expediting approvals for program momentum, and supporting budgeting and planning through the National Health Mission (NHM) and State Health Corporation. The lead will develop the program strategy and implementation plan, oversee day-to-day program activities, and strengthen the capacity of health staff through training and mentoring. Additionally, the lead will represent WJCF in state-level technical working groups, coordinate with development partners, identify risks to implementation, and support the design of systems for managing programmatic data.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in any domain, with a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience in a results-oriented environment. They should demonstrate the ability to manage large projects, have experience working with government stakeholders, and be familiar with the Indian public health system. The ideal candidate should also be able to prioritize tasks, work independently, and have advanced proficiency in project management tools. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Hindi are essential, with a preference for candidates who are versed in local languages or dialects.
Educational Background:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in any relevant field is required for this position. The educational background should support the candidate's ability to manage public health programs and engage with government stakeholders effectively.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience, particularly in managing large projects and working within the public health sector. Candidates should have a proven track record of project design and team management, as well as experience engaging with government entities.
Languages:
Proficiency in English and Hindi is mandatory for this role, with a preference for candidates who can communicate in local languages or dialects, enhancing their ability to engage with diverse communities effectively.
