Job Overview:
The IDB Country Office in Guyana is seeking an active undergraduate student for a paid internship opportunity as part of the COF/Offices Internship Program. This program is designed for university students from member countries to gain insights into development work and corporate management within the Bank. Interns will acquire professional experience through on-the-job learning, focusing on economic analysis and data management. The internship is particularly aimed at students who are eager to learn and contribute to ongoing projects while developing their skills in a supportive environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for gathering and reviewing publicly accessible economic data, reports, publications, and market information to support various projects and analyses. They will compile, clean, and analyze statistical and economic data using spreadsheets or other analytical tools to identify trends. Under the guidance of the Economic Specialist, interns will create a simple model that highlights key indicators of inflation pass-through in Guyana for internal use only. This role requires a proactive approach to data management and analysis, ensuring that the information provided is accurate and relevant to the ongoing projects.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be active undergraduate students enrolled in an Economics program at an accredited university. They should be citizens or legal residents of Guyana and must not have family members working at the IDB or IDB Invest. Additionally, candidates should be first-time participants in an internship program held by the Bank or IDB Invest and must not have been former staff members or contractors for the organization. The graduation date should be after the internship period, ensuring that students are able to fulfill the internship requirements without conflicting with their academic commitments.

Educational Background:
The position requires candidates to be enrolled in an undergraduate (bachelor’s) program in Economics. It is essential that the graduation date is set for after the completion of the internship, allowing students to gain valuable experience while still pursuing their degree. Candidates must have completed at least their second year of studies by the time of application, demonstrating a solid foundation in economic principles and theories.

Experience:
This internship is designed for students who are at the beginning of their professional journey. Therefore, no prior work experience is required, but candidates should possess a strong academic background in Economics and demonstrate a keen interest in applying their knowledge in a practical setting. Languages:
