Job Overview:
The Software Engineering Expert (Training Tool Application) will play a crucial role within the Network Management Directorate at EUROCONTROL. This position involves collaborating with stakeholders and end-users to gather and analyze business and user requirements related to the Learning Zone training tool application. The expert will be responsible for translating these requirements into robust technical specifications and software solutions, ensuring that the software architecture evolves to integrate seamlessly with existing solutions. The role also includes coordinating the implementation of software developments, corrective actions, and technical enhancements to ensure the Learning Zone platform's performance, stability, and scalability. The expert will analyze technical incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective technical solutions. Additionally, the expert will define and coordinate testing and validation activities for software changes, monitor technological developments, and maintain technical documentation to support the continuous improvement of the Learning Zone platform.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes completion of third-level studies in a relevant domain such as Computer Science or Engineering. The studies must meet the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) level 6 or 7, depending on the professional experience level of the candidate. This educational foundation is essential for performing the responsibilities associated with the role effectively.
Experience:
The level of experience needed for this position includes a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience for candidates with EQF level 7 qualifications, or a minimum of 4 years for those with EQF level 6 qualifications. Candidates should have experience in web application development and maintenance, particularly in a .NET environment, as well as experience in defining user requirements and designing testing scenarios. Familiarity with IT systems support in an ITIL environment is also important.
Languages:
Proficiency in English at level C1 is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary working language of the Agency. Candidates are also required to become a basic user of French at level A1 before the end of the probation period. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory for this role.
Additional Notes:
The position is a full-time role with a duration of 5 years, with the possibility of renewal or conversion under certain conditions. The selected candidate must successfully complete a probationary period of nine months before being established in the post. The appointment will be made in accordance with the provisions of the Staff regulations governing officials of the EUROCONTROL Agency. The selected candidate will be required to provide documentary evidence confirming they meet the minimum education requirements. The position operates under a hybrid working model, allowing for a combination of onsite presence and remote work opportunities, although full-time remote work is not permitted.
