The role of the Multimedia Content Associate Intern involves providing creative and technical support in implementing IOM's communication strategy in West and Central Africa. Interns will participate in creating engaging multimedia content, including photography, video, and social media posts, while also contributing to the management and organization of communication content. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Multimedia Content Associate Intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be enrolled in the final year of a bachelor's degree program or in a master's program in communication, journalism, digital marketing, multimedia, or a related field from a recognized university. A degree in one of the mentioned fields or a related area is also acceptable. Additional training, a portfolio, or academic/professional experience in content creation, social media management, audiovisual production, graphic design, storytelling, or digital communication would be advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in migration, humanitarian action, and public information in West and Central Africa.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes being enrolled in the final year of a bachelor's degree or in a master's program in relevant fields such as communication, journalism, digital marketing, multimedia, or public relations. A degree in one of these areas or a related field is essential. Candidates with additional training or experience in content creation and digital communication will be preferred.
Experience:
The position requires candidates to have demonstrated experience, interest, or academic/professional work in media, communication, journalism, digital content, advocacy, international development, humanitarian action, or migration. Familiarity with major social media platforms and their editorial uses is essential. Experience in content planning, editorial calendars, and basic design tools would be beneficial. Candidates should also have a strong interest in migration and humanitarian issues.
Languages:
Fluency in French (oral and written) is required for this internship, along with a working knowledge of English. The proficiency in these languages will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
Additional Notes:
Interns may receive a small monthly stipend to help offset costs, depending on their experience and location. However, those receiving an internship allowance or scholarship that includes financial remuneration will not be eligible for the stipend. IOM provides coverage against occupational accidents and illnesses for interns during the internship period, but does not offer evacuation or medical insurance for non-occupational issues. Interns are responsible for their own medical insurance and must provide proof of coverage before starting work. Any job offer is subject to funding confirmation and medical fitness certification. IOM maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding misconduct and does not charge any fees during the recruitment process.

- Helping to animate regional digital platforms by drafting, adapting, and programming content to enhance visibility and engagement.
- Collaborating with country offices and technical teams to identify content opportunities and contribute to coherent regional campaigns.
