Job Overview:
The position of Translation Services Provider is crucial for ensuring that UNDP's programme documents are accessible to a wider audience by providing high-quality translation services. The selected candidate will be responsible for translating documents from English to Russian and vice versa. This role requires not only linguistic proficiency but also an understanding of the context and nuances of the content being translated. The candidate will work closely with the UNDP EE Unit to ensure that all programme documents are accurately translated, edited, and proofread, maintaining the integrity and intent of the original text. The ability to manage multiple documents and adhere to deadlines is essential, as the number of pages for translation will be discussed with the selected candidate. This position is remote, allowing for flexibility in work hours while ensuring timely delivery of translation services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Translate programme documents from English to Russian and vice versa, ensuring accuracy and clarity in the translation.
• Edit and proofread translated documents to ensure they meet UNDP's quality standards.
• Collaborate with the UNDP EE Unit to understand the context and specific requirements for each document.
• Manage multiple translation assignments simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for improving the translation process and document quality.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information contained in the documents.
• Stay updated on relevant terminology and developments in the field of international development and UNDP's work.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience in translation, particularly in the context of international development or related fields.
• Strong command of both English and Russian, with the ability to translate complex concepts accurately.
• Excellent editing and proofreading skills, with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with UNDP's mission and objectives is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in translation, linguistics, international relations, or a related field is preferred. Additional certifications in translation or language proficiency will be considered an asset.

Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of professional translation experience is required, with a focus on translating documents in the field of international development or similar sectors. Experience working with UN agencies or similar organizations is highly desirable.

Languages:
Mandatory: Proficiency in English and Russian. Good to have: Knowledge of other UN languages such as French or Spanish would be an advantage.

This is a remote position, allowing for flexible work arrangements. The contract duration and specific terms will be discussed with the selected candidate.
