Job Overview:
The Team Leader position in Wadeye is a full-time, fixed-term role that runs until the end of June 202
  • The successful candidate will lead a team dedicated to delivering programs that support families and children with complex, high needs. This role is crucial in ensuring that the Play2Learn and Intensive Family Support programs are effectively implemented, creating a positive impact on the community. The Team Leader will report to the Regional Manager and will be responsible for the operational management of program activities, budget oversight, and staff support. This position requires a strong commitment to the well-being of staff and the communities served, with a focus on therapeutic engagement and safety planning for children. The role also involves regular travel between Darwin and Wadeye, with accommodation provided in Wadeye and Fridays spent working from the Darwin office.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Team Leader will be responsible for building and maintaining effective networks with stakeholders to maximize positive outcomes for families and children. This includes prioritizing the monitoring and evaluation of programs, ensuring a strong focus on therapeutic engagement and safety planning. The Team Leader will provide regular leadership to the program team through coaching and professional supervision, manage budgeting and data collection, and meet internal and external reporting requirements. Additionally, the role involves fostering a high-performing team culture, managing team dynamics, and ensuring that the team is well-supported in their roles. They should have experience working with families in case management roles, particularly in diverse and disadvantaged communities, including remote Indigenous communities. A willingness to travel between Darwin and Wadeye is essential, along with a working knowledge of the Northern Territory Child Protection and Domestic Violence Systems. A diploma level certification in a relevant field is required, as well as a current driver’s license and a Working with Children’s Card (or eligibility to apply). Proven leadership skills and the ability to nurture a cohesive team are also critical for this role.

  • The role is classified as Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO), requiring travel from Darwin to Wadeye on Monday mornings and returning on Thursday afternoons. Accommodation in Wadeye is provided, and Fridays are spent working from the Darwin office. The position offers an award rate salary of $55.72 per hour, along with access to full PBI salary packaging benefits.
