Job Overview:
The intern" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Communications Intern will work under the supervision of the Communications Officer at the UNOPS Guatemala Office. This role involves collaborating on communication activities in Guatemala and Zacapa, contributing to the development of digital content and campaigns for UNOPS's social media platforms in Spanish. The intern will assist in creating and drafting content for social media posts, ensuring adherence to the organization's branding guidelines. The position requires the ability to analyze data and generate reports on communication strategies, as well as support in designing graphics and audiovisual materials for various communication channels. The intern will also participate in internal and external communication processes, attend relevant meetings, and help organize promotional events for UNOPS.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: supporting the communications team in generating content for UNOPS's social media in Spanish; assisting in the creation and writing of posts that comply with branding guidelines; designing graphics and audiovisual elements for social media and other channels; scheduling social media posts about UNOPS projects in Latin America and the Caribbean; measuring the performance of social media posts and generating analysis reports; assisting in the development of informational graphic materials like infographics and brochures; collaborating in the production of graphic and audiovisual content for key messages; managing the communication dashboard; participating in meetings and events, taking minutes and tracking decisions; contributing to the organization of communication events, webinars, and promotional activities; updating UNOPS's digital platforms in Spanish; translating documents into English as needed; monitoring media and clipping regional news; and performing other tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in or have graduated from a university program in communication, public relations, graphic design, or related fields, preferably within the last three years. Experience in internships or volunteer work related to social communication, digital communication, or design in public, private, or international organizations is valued. Familiarity with design and audiovisual editing software such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, and After Effects is also beneficial. The ability to work under pressure, communicate effectively, and collaborate with others is essential.

Educational Background:
Candidates should be pursuing or have completed a bachelor's degree in communication, public relations, graphic design, or a related field. Preference will be given to those in their final two years of study or those who have recently graduated (within three years) with a degree in the aforementioned areas.

Experience:
No prior work experience is required for this internship. However, experience in internships or volunteer positions related to social communication or digital communication is preferred. Candidates with previous experience should include a portfolio showcasing their communication materials in their application.

Languages:
Proficiency in Spanish is mandatory, as it is the primary language for communication within the role. Intermediate proficiency in English is desirable, allowing for effective communication and translation when necessary.

This internship is entry-level and is expected to last between 6 to 12 months. The position is part-time and is open to candidates from diverse backgrounds, particularly those from historically underrepresented groups.
