Job Overview:
The Coordinator for Remuneration Governance and Integration will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of strategies and policies related to remuneration systems within the UPU. This role involves providing authoritative advice to General Management and other directorates on remuneration matters, coordinating projects and activities across specialized units, and ensuring the integration and modernization of remuneration systems in response to trends affecting the postal sector. The position requires a strong focus on operational management, stakeholder coordination, and resource management, with an emphasis on achieving high-quality results and fostering collaboration among team members and external partners.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and development of strategies and governance frameworks for remuneration systems, providing authoritative advice to management.
  • Supervise and coordinate projects and activities of specialized units to ensure task accomplishment.
  • Analyze trends impacting the postal sector and formulate development plans for remuneration systems.
  • Represent the UPU at external meetings and conferences on remuneration matters.
  • Ensure the timely publication of country-specific rates and oversee the implementation of new remuneration systems.
  • Provide guidance on complex remuneration issues to UPU bodies and members.
  • Prepare and manage the budget for remuneration projects, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  • Lead a team, fostering a cooperative environment and evaluating performance.
  • Coordinate the preparation of documents for UPU bodies and ensure quality and timely submission. 1
  • Provide advice and guidance to UPU bodies and ensure follow-up on decisions made.

Required Qualifications:
  • Advanced university degree in economics, business administration, international business, or related fields.
  • Extensive knowledge of international postal services and UPU remuneration systems.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and operational issues in the postal sector.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to conduct quantitative technical analyses.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex economic issues clearly.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-stakeholder projects in a multicultural context.
  • High sense of professional integrity and political sensitivity.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in relevant fields such as economics, business administration, or international postal management. Alternatively, a first university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in these areas is acceptable, provided the candidate has additional years of experience as stipulated.

Experience:
Candidates with an advanced university degree must have at least 10 years of experience in UPU remuneration systems. Those with a first-level university degree are required to have at least 12 years of relevant experience. This experience should include a strong background in managing remuneration systems and understanding the complexities of the postal sector.

Languages:
English is required for this position, while French is desirable. The working languages of the United Nations Secretariat are English and French, and candidates must demonstrate proficiency in these languages according to the UN Language Framework.
