Job Overview:
The consultancy aims to conduct a National Climate Impact Analysis on Reproductive Health, focusing on the direct effects of climate change on key reproductive health indicators, including fertility and maternal health in Türkiye. The consultant will employ a quantitative approach, utilizing advanced statistical modeling of secondary data from TURKSTAT and the Ministry of Health. The analysis will explore the relationship between adverse climate events and reproductive health indicators over the past decade, with the goal of providing actionable policy recommendations based on the findings. The consultant is expected to submit a CV and a short proposal outlining research objectives and methodology, including data sources.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive analysis of the impacts of climate change on reproductive health indicators. This includes identifying and managing primary and secondary data sources, employing regression analysis to establish empirical associations, and proposing additional relevant variables to enhance the analysis. The consultant will also develop evidence-based policy recommendations based on the findings, aimed at informing effective interventions and strengthening institutional responses. Deliverables include an inception report, a preliminary report with analysis and policy recommendations, and a final report incorporating feedback from UNFPA.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in Public Health, Demography, Economics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Social Policy, Environmental Science, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of relevant academic and research experience in public health, demography, social policy, economics, or environmental policy is required. A strong publication record and experience in quantitative analysis related to health policy are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with UN organizations are advantageous. Excellent writing, research, consultation, and engagement skills are also required.

Educational Background:
A Master’s Degree in a relevant field such as Public Health, Demography, Economics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Social Policy, or Environmental Science is mandatory for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complex interactions between climate change and reproductive health indicators.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant academic and research experience in fields such as public health, demography, social policy, economics, or environmental policy. Candidates should have a strong publication record and experience in quantitative analysis, particularly in relation to health policy and demographic studies. Previous experience with UN organizations is considered an asset, as is experience in delivering similar assignments.

Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken English and Turkish is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication and reporting, given the nature of the consultancy and the stakeholders involved.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy is expected to take place from 20 July 2026 to 22 September 2026 and will be home-based. The consultant will be required to submit a daily log detailing working days and tasks along with deliverables. Payment for services will be certified through a Certification of Payment, which must be counter-signed by both parties.
