Job Overview: The Recruitment Consultant will play a pivotal role in driving and coordinating the end-to-end talent acquisition activities for the UNFPA East and Southern Africa Regional Office. This position is particularly focused on executing recruitment and selection processes that are associated with the organizational restructuring of relevant Country Offices. The consultant will ensure that all activities comply with UNFPA policies, procedures, and applicable Staff Regulations and Rules. The role requires a proactive approach to managing recruitment timelines, conducting assessments, and ensuring that the recruitment process is efficient and effective. The consultant will also be responsible for collaborating with various stakeholders, including hiring managers and the Regional HR Team, to ensure that job descriptions and position requirements are accurately defined and aligned with organizational needs. The consultant will also support the compilation of recruitment information and data for meetings and contribute to the overall improvement of recruitment practices within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Recruitment Consultant include coordinating and managing the end-to-end recruitment and selection process for positions impacted by realignment exercises. This includes conducting job matching exercises, application screening, and managing assessments such as written assessments and competency-based interviews. The consultant will also support the development of interview schedules, prepare competency-based interview questions, and brief panel members on selection methodologies. Additionally, the consultant will track and monitor recruitment progress, identify risks and bottlenecks, and provide regular updates to management. Accurate record-keeping and maintenance of recruitment files are essential, as well as capturing lessons learned and good practices from the recruitment process. The consultant may also perform other HR duties as required by management.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a completed advanced university degree (Master's) in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related field. Alternatively, a completed Bachelor's degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted. The consultant must have a minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible professional experience in end-to-end recruitment, talent acquisition, or HR management. A proven track record in supporting organizational change management and high-volume recruitment exercises is essential. Familiarity with UNFPA policies and procedures is highly desirable, along with proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems and HR data analytics. Strong skills in MS Excel and MS Word are also required.

Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of additional languages such as Spanish, French, and/or Portuguese is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's profile, particularly in a diverse and multicultural work environment.
Additional Notes: The consultancy is set to last from July 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026, with an initial period of 6 months and a maximum of 30 days for each assignment. Services will be delivered remotely throughout the contract duration. Regular monitoring and progress control will be conducted through bi-weekly update reports submitted to the Regional HR Team. The consultant will report to the Regional HR Business Partner and the Country Office Head of Office or Representative.
