Job Overview: The position of Communication Consultant within UNICEF's Partner Recognition and Impact team in the Private Sector Communication and Engagement Section is crucial for supporting a variety of partnership communication activities. The consultant will be responsible for designing and delivering joint communication plans and frameworks for multi-country and global partnerships. This includes coordinating communication planning across multiple markets, facilitating partnership communication workshops, developing high-quality communication assets and materials, and managing reputational risks through proactive communication strategies. The consultant will also oversee the rollout and implementation of these communication assets and frameworks in collaboration with various markets, working closely with National Committees and country offices to mitigate reputational risks and manage responses to any reputational issues that may arise. The primary objective of this role is to establish a Roster to streamline and accelerate the hiring of Communication Consultants, ensuring that UNICEF can fulfill its contractual obligations to showcase partnership recognition and the impact of its programs.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be tasked with developing comprehensive communication packages, including press releases, social media assets, key messages, Q&A documents, and talking points for multi-country partnerships. This will be done in close collaboration with communication focal points from relevant National Committees, regional, and country offices. The consultant will also organize and facilitate communication workshops and meetings for stakeholders to develop partnership communication frameworks and plans. Additionally, the consultant will manage reputational risks related to partnerships through effective communication strategies and oversee the implementation of agreed communication plans and activities across countries. This role requires ensuring alignment at the global, regional, and national office levels between UNICEF and its partners, coordinating across relevant teams and offices as necessary. Furthermore, the consultant will support the partnership communication requirements of new high-value partners and participate in meetings to facilitate overall alignment across workstreams and offices at various levels.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for this position, candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or higher) in Marketing, Communications, Business, Social Sciences, Arts, or related fields. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or higher) may be accepted in combination with qualifying experience. Candidates must have a minimum of five years of progressive experience in fields such as Communications, Public Relations, Account/Client Management, Sales, Marketing, Fundraising, or Advertising. Experience working in partnership contexts, particularly on customer-facing partnerships, is required, along with at least two years of experience at an international level, which is desirable. Previous regional or country office experience is considered an asset.

Additional Notes: The consultancy position is expected to last for a duration of three years, although UNICEF does not guarantee a specific quantity of services will be purchased during this time, as this will depend on forthcoming needs. The consultant will be responsible for using their own equipment, including a laptop and any necessary software. Regular communication with the manager and communication specialists is expected. UNICEF will provide orientation on branding guidelines and share necessary documents and specifications with the consultant. There may be occasional travel required during the assignment, which will be covered separately by UNICEF.
