Job Overview:
The Programme Analyst, GBV based in Mandalay will play a crucial role in providing technical, operational, and coordination support to the UNFPA GBV programme and the GBV sub-sector coordination. This position requires close collaboration with various stakeholders, including humanitarian and development agencies, NGOs, INGOs, and civil society organizations. The incumbent will report directly to the Coordination Specialist, GBV & MHPSS based in Yangon and will work closely with the Head of Office in Mandalay. The role is essential in enhancing the quality, accessibility, and coordination of GBV prevention and response interventions, particularly in the context of Myanmar's ongoing crisis, which has heightened risks of violence against women and girls. The Programme Analyst will also contribute to the integration of GBV programming with other UNFPA mandate areas, such as Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Mental Health and psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Psychosocial Support, and youth initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Analyst will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including: providing technical support and capacity development in GBV programming; analyzing the political, social, and economic environment relevant to population and development; contributing to the strengthening of GBV humanitarian and recovery coordination mechanisms; disseminating and orienting UNFPA and implementing partners on standard guidelines and protocols; consolidating assessments on the GBV situation; developing GBV action plans; supporting resource mobilization efforts; coordinating training sessions for prevention and response actors; maintaining oversight of technical assistance and capacity building activities; preparing periodic progress and annual reports; providing technical support for case management and psychosocial interventions for GBV survivors; and supporting the management of MHPSS capacity building activities. Additionally, the Programme Analyst will contribute to monitoring and evaluation efforts, ensuring consistent and quality programme implementation, and maintaining awareness of budget and expenditures to manage the programme effectively.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in social work, social sciences, public/community health, gender studies, legal studies related to gender and GBV, or a related field. They should have at least two years of progressively responsible professional experience in relevant areas, demonstrating a strong commitment to the UN and UNFPA's mandate in Myanmar. Knowledge of gender issues in development, particularly GBV, and experience in emergency and post-conflict contexts are essential. Familiarity with international human rights standards, reproductive health, HIV, and psychosocial support issues is advantageous. Proficiency in utilizing international tools related to GBV programming is also required, along with excellent computer literacy and experience in developing and delivering GBV training.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree in social work, social sciences, public/community health, gender studies, legal studies related to gender and GBV, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of gender-based violence and the necessary interventions to address it effectively.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of increasingly responsible professional experience in areas related to gender, reproductive health, and GBV, particularly in emergency and post-conflict settings. Candidates should have field experience addressing and integrating gender issues and a strong commitment to the UNFPA's mission in Myanmar. Experience with international human rights standards and operational advocacy related to GBV is also important.

Languages:
Fluency in both oral and written English and Myanmar is essential for this role. Candidates must be able to write clearly and concisely and compose correspondence and documents in both languages, as effective communication is critical in this position.
