Job Overview:
The Technical Advisor for Safe and Dignified Programming will play a crucial role in providing technical advice and support for design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design and implementation issues. This position is integral to ensuring that CRS adheres to its program quality principles and standards, donor guidelines, and industry best practices. The advisor will work closely with CRS and partner teams to enhance the effectiveness and innovation of Safe and Dignified Programming globally. The role involves contributing to the development of agency-wide strategies and tools, ensuring a cross-sectoral approach that integrates gender, protection mainstreaming, and disaster risk reduction. The advisor will also support capacity strengthening initiatives and contribute to the learning agenda by analyzing program data and sharing best practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Technical Advisor include supporting the development and implementation of strategies and standards in Safe and Dignified Programming, providing technical solutions to project teams, contributing to proposal development, advising on donor strategies, and supporting capacity strengthening initiatives. The advisor will collect and analyze program data, maintain relationships with donors and peer organizations, and participate in forums to promote CRS' work. Specific tasks include conducting trainings and workshops, coaching staff and partners, and ensuring high-quality implementation of programming standards and best practices. The advisor will also act as a technical writer for proposals and support project teams in integrating donor requirements into CRS' approach.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, International Development, or Humanitarian Action. A minimum of five to eight years of work experience in Safe and Dignified Programming or Protection Mainstreaming is required, with at least two years of relevant field-based experience. Proficiency in MS Office and knowledge of technical principles in Safe and Dignified Programming are essential. Candidates should have experience in project design, proposal development, and program monitoring and evaluation, as well as strong relationship management skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse teams.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, International Development, or Humanitarian Action. A Master's Degree in Social Inclusion or Protection Studies is preferred but not mandatory. The educational background should provide a solid foundation in the principles and practices relevant to Safe and Dignified Programming.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of five to eight years of progressive work experience in Safe and Dignified Programming or Protection Mainstreaming, ideally with an international NGO. This experience should include at least two years of field-based work in relevant programming areas, demonstrating a strong understanding of the challenges and best practices in the sector.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required, along with proficiency in either French, Spanish, or Arabic. Additional languages are considered a plus, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in diverse environments.

  • Candidates must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time, with deployments lasting from 1 to 3 months based on program needs. The role does not include supervisory responsibilities.
