The agency is mandated to lead and coordinate international action to protect refugees and resolve refugee problems worldwide. Its primary purpose is to safeguard the rights and well-being of refugees. The UNHCR strives to ensure that everyone can exercise the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge in another State, with the option to return home voluntarily, integrate locally, or resettle in a third country. The organization operates in numerous countries around the globe, focusing on providing assistance and protection to millions of refugees and displaced persons. The UNHCR has a dedicated Technical Unit in Amman, Jordan, which supports rural-urban linkages and SDG-aligned strategies, working closely with the government to assess needs and coordinate the provision of WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) services to Persons of Concern (PoC).

The UN Volunteer will also work closely with their supervisor to finalize a work plan outlining key objectives and activities, with regular check-ins to review progress and receive feedback.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong analytical and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality written materials. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting is essential, as well as familiarity with donor requirements and reporting standards. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the humanitarian sector, is highly desirable. Familiarity with donor engagement and reporting processes is also beneficial. The ability to work in a multicultural environment and adapt to changing circumstances is essential.

Languages:
The official language of Jordan is Arabic, and proficiency in English is mandatory, as it is widely spoken, especially in urban areas. Knowledge of additional languages such as French, German, Italian, or Spanish would be considered an asset, but is not mandatory.
