Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a range of tasks including: assisting in the production of high-quality photo, video, and audio content from field locations and events; editing short videos, reels, and interviews for digital and advocacy purposes; developing basic audiovisual storytelling content; organizing and maintaining a structured archive of multimedia assets; preparing content packages for social media and donor updates; designing engaging communication materials; adapting global communication templates to local contexts; visualizing humanitarian data; supporting field visits to collect beneficiary stories; ensuring informed consent procedures are followed; coordinating with field teams for story opportunities; providing logistical support during field missions; and monitoring and reporting on digital content performance.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should have recently graduated with a degree in Film and Media Studies, Communication, Mass Communication, or Journalism. Basic skills in photo, video, and audio production are preferred, along with familiarity with design and editing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva. A good understanding of social media platforms and content formats is essential, as well as basic skills in content writing and transcription. Strong organizational skills for managing digital assets and attention to detail in branding and content quality are also required. Prior experience or a portfolio in communication/media/design is advantageous, as is knowledge of the context in Bangladesh, particularly regarding the Rohingya response.
Educational Background: A degree in Film and Media Studies, Communication, Mass Communication, or Journalism is required for this position. Recent graduates are particularly encouraged to apply, as this internship is designed to provide practical experience in the field.
Experience: The position is suitable for candidates who are recent graduates or students, thus requiring minimal professional experience. However, familiarity with audio-visual production and a portfolio showcasing relevant work will be considered an advantage. Additional Notes: The internship is based in Cox's Bazar and has a duration of six months, with an expected 40% travel requirement. Interns will receive a monthly stipend of 20,000.00 BDT and are expected to work from 08:30 AM to 05:00 PM. This position is open to Bangladeshi Nationals only.
