Job Overview:
The intern position is located within the Local2030 Coalition Secretariat in Bilbao, part of the Global Solutions Division of UN-Habitat. The Global Solutions Division is responsible for providing programmatic direction and ensuring the effective delivery of the Strategic Plan. The intern will play a crucial role in supporting governance and program management efforts, particularly in engaging with the Local2030 Coalition Steering Committee and the UN Directors Group. The role involves facilitating knowledge exchange among stakeholders, organizing meetings and events, and supporting high-level engagements. The intern will also assist in disseminating knowledge and documenting outcomes from various meetings and events, contributing to the Coalition's reporting activities, including the preparation of key publications.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: a. Be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), b. Be in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent), c. Have graduated with a Bachelor's degree, Master's, PhD, or equivalent. Candidates should be computer literate in standard software applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite, and demonstrate a keen interest in the work of the United Nations. They should also have the ability to interact successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and beliefs, showing tolerance and understanding of differing opinions.
Educational Background:
Candidates are preferred to have relevant coursework in Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, or other related fields. The position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience in drafting actionable documents, and an understanding of outreach principles, partnership building, and event management. Strong skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and familiarity with design tools like Canva are desirable.
Experience:

Knowledge of another UN language is desirable, as English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Candidates should also possess strong writing skills and the ability to tailor language based on the audience.
