The position is located in the United Nations Office for Sustainable Development (UNOSD) in Incheon, Republic of Korea. UNOSD is a project office of the Division for Sustainable Development Goals (DSDG), which is part of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA). The DSDG serves as the Secretariat for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and provides substantive support and capacity-building for the Goals and their related thematic areas, including water, energy, climate, oceans, urbanization, transport, science and technology, partnerships, and Small Island Developing States. The DSDG also plays a crucial role in supporting the system-wide UN implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, as well as in advocacy and outreach activities related to the SDGs. Job Overview:
The Team Assistant will report directly to the Senior Sustainable Development Officer at UNOSD. This position involves a wide range of office support and administrative functions that are essential for the smooth operation of the office. The Team Assistant will be expected to respond to or draft responses to routine correspondence and other communications, utilizing standard word processing software to produce a variety of complex documents and reports. The role also includes monitoring processes and schedules related to the office's outputs and tasks, assisting in the verification of documents to ensure compliance with legal and financial requirements, and compiling information for reports and meetings. The Team Assistant will play a vital role in project planning and preparation, ensuring that project documents are complete and compliant with relevant rules before submission for approval. Additionally, the position requires providing secretarial and administrative support for meetings and events, maintaining websites, and managing calendars and schedules.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Team Assistant will be responsible for performing a wide range of office support and administrative functions, including but not limited to: responding to or drafting responses to routine correspondence; producing complex documents and reports; monitoring processes and schedules related to the office's outputs; verifying the accuracy of requisite documents; researching and compiling information for reports and meetings; generating standard statistical reports; proofreading and editing documents; assisting in project planning and preparation; coordinating logistics for meetings and events; maintaining files and databases; and performing general administrative tasks such as leave and attendance recording, budget follow-up, and processing administrative requests. The Team Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining large distribution lists and coordinating shipment arrangements as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. At least three years of experience in general office support or a related area is required. Experience in secretarial, administrative, and logistics support related to international meetings and events is essential, as well as experience in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Familiarity with integrated information management systems, such as SAP or Umoja, is desirable, along with experience in web maintenance and organizing meetings on virtual platforms like MS Teams, WebEx, or Zoom.

Educational Background:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position. There are no specific job-related qualifications listed beyond the educational requirement.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least three years of experience in general office support or a related area. This experience should include secretarial and administrative support related to international meetings and events, as well as liaising with international representatives for travel management and visa arrangements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is also required, and experience with integrated information management systems is desirable.

Languages:
The working languages of the United Nations Secretariat are English and French. For this position, proficiency in English and Korean is required, with a minimum level of proficiency specified according to the UN Language Framework. Candidates must demonstrate their ability in reading, writing, listening, and speaking in both languages at the required level.

Additional Notes:
This job opening refers to a project-funded post of finite duration, with an initial appointment period of one year. The appointment is subject to the availability of the post or funds, budgetary approval, and extension of the mandate. External candidates selected for this position will receive a fixed-term appointment limited to the project.
