Job Overview: The position of Gestionnaire des cas involves ensuring the specific care of children who are victims of various protection cases and survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) through effective case management. The role is crucial in identifying vulnerable and at-risk children and implementing case management interventions according to established criteria and inter-agency approaches. The case manager will work closely with service providers to ensure a holistic and quality approach to child protection cases, developing referral mechanisms within the intervention area. This position reports directly to the Child Protection in Emergencies Officer and is essential for the effective delivery of child protection services in emergency settings.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Gestionnaire des cas include:
Implementing the program by identifying vulnerable and at-risk children and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure case referrals.
Continuously mapping services and updating the directory of existing services in the intervention area.
Assessing the situation of children and/or families to determine eligibility for case management.
Working with children and/or families to help them understand their issues, set goals, and develop realistic plans; taking actions to ensure children's protection from harm.
Implementing intervention plans for children and families, including referrals to service providers when needs cannot be met by Plan International.
Monitoring and reviewing individual cases through regular case conferences, home visits, or other follow-up visits to ensure timely and high-quality assistance.
Closing cases for individuals who have resolved immediate protection issues and, where possible, found sustainable solutions to underlying problems.
Ensuring high-quality documentation of case management, adhering to confidentiality protocols and information sharing guidelines.
Establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with key community stakeholders, including children, caregivers, community leaders, and service providers. 1
Attending child protection committee meetings and assisting committee members and community volunteers in identifying and referring child protection cases to available services. 1
Promoting adherence to the code of conduct, child protection policy, and organizational values both internally and externally. 1
Ensuring the community is well-informed about case management services, including eligibility and functions. 1
Facilitating awareness sessions with community members on identifying and referring children with protection issues and other child protection-related topics. 1
Providing information to community members on how to better protect their children.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Gestionnaire des cas position include:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree (BAC+3) in Social Sciences, Economics, or Business.
Experience as a social worker in case management and working with children and families in difficult situations.
Proficiency in MS Office applications.
Willingness and ability to radically change work practices and schedules in emergencies.
Ability to analyze information, assess options, and follow strategic directions.
In-depth understanding of national development issues, legislation, and policies, particularly concerning children.
Previous experience working within a multicultural team and adaptability to varied team dynamics.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Fluency in written and spoken French and Creole; proficiency in English is an advantage. 1
