Job Overview: The Social Media Content Producer will play a crucial role in developing creative content aimed at enhancing reach and engagement across various social media platforms. This position involves working on integrated campaigns and maintaining a steady flow of evergreen content to help establish IRC as a leading humanitarian NGO focused on protecting individuals displaced by conflict and crisis. The producer will be responsible for creating and distributing compelling multimedia content, particularly short-form videos, to grow IRC's online presence and engage a dedicated audience. The role encompasses managing key social media channels, including both business-to-consumer (B2C) platforms like Instagram, Bluesky, Facebook, and TikTok, as well as business-to-business (B2B) platforms like LinkedIn. The ideal candidate will have a strong storytelling ability that drives social engagement and a keen understanding of content performance metrics, while remaining aligned with IRC's core mission and values. They will also be proactive in identifying cultural moments and social innovations that can enhance the organization's outreach efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Social Media Content Producer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
Collaborating with communications and advocacy teams to create timely social media content that aligns with current news and trending topics.
Drafting engaging social media posts, including captions, graphics copy, video scripts, and other necessary materials.
Producing various forms of multimedia content, such as Instagram stories and social media graphics, while adhering to ethical storytelling guidelines that amplify the voices of refugees and asylum seekers.
Localizing and adapting content from global teams and other IRC markets to ensure relevance for UK audiences.
Supporting the tactical execution of the existing social media strategy, focusing on building profile, reach, and engagement.
Maintaining an annual social media calendar that outlines key campaigns and moments for outreach.
Reporting on social content performance and making recommendations for optimization.
Staying informed about the latest trends and innovations in social media, and experimenting with new content and storytelling techniques as appropriate.
Engaging with social influencers to enhance the IRC's visibility and impact.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a proven understanding of social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn, Instagram, Bluesky, and TikTok, and their role in building influence among UK audiences. They should have experience in video production, film, journalism, communications, or marketing" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">digital marketing, supported by relevant degrees or training. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Premiere, and After Effects, is strongly encouraged. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional storyteller and copywriter with meticulous attention to detail, capable of producing compelling written content. They should demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic, cross-functional global team, effectively prioritizing and organizing their workload in a fast-paced environment. Educational Background: A degree or equivalent training in fields such as Video Production, Film, Journalism, Communications, Social Media, or Digital Marketing is required. Candidates should have a solid foundation in content creation and digital engagement strategies.
Experience: Demonstrable experience in a social media role, whether from an agency, in-house, or journalism content production team, is essential, with a strong emphasis on video content creation. Candidates should have a track record of identifying and producing reactive content in response to trends, showcasing their ability to adapt and innovate in a rapidly changing digital landscape.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory, as the role requires excellent communication skills for content creation and engagement. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not explicitly required.
Additional Notes: This position is based in the UK, specifically near Moorgate/St Paul’s, and follows a hybrid working model, requiring one day per week in the office.
