Duties and Responsibilities:
The Country Protection Manager will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including leading the development and roll-out of protection strategies for Myanmar and Bangladesh, ensuring alignment with global priorities. The role involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of protection trends and risks, overseeing the technical design and review of protection-related proposals, and ensuring the integration of protection with other sectors. The manager will also be responsible for monitoring program implementation, conducting regular field missions, and ensuring compliance with protection standards. Additionally, the role includes representing DRC in national and sub-national coordination fora, advocating for protection issues, and building collaborative relationships with local civil society organizations. Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Country Protection Manager position must possess a Master's degree in social sciences, development studies, international relations, psychology, social work, or a related field. A minimum of four years of relevant work experience in protection services, particularly in refugee contexts, is essential. Strong knowledge of global protection standards and experience in strategy development, protection mainstreaming, and integrating protection with other sectors are required. Familiarity with Protection Information Management Systems and experience in data analysis are also important. Additional Notes:
The position is offered as a DRC Regular contract, which includes a three-month probation period. The contract is renewable based on funding availability and performance. The role is classified within Employment Band F-management, indicating a senior level of responsibility.
